2008 was a busy year for us.  We are now teaching Hindi in Russia, and math in Dubai as well as math and science in the US.  Check out our new restructured and redesigned site at www.Jupiter2x.com.  We are constantly trying to improve and enhance the use of the internet for teaching and learning.  We've also invested in course development and content delivery systems and we expect to announce a major new initiative to further involve classroom teachers in the very near future.
Silicon Valley Computer Using Educators to Meet

The Silicon Valley Chapter of Computer Using Educators (CUE) is holding a mini-conference at Harker School on Saturday February 28th. Google, Moodle Among Top Tools Cited by Teachers

 

Various products from search giant Google were mentioned most often by teachers around the country when asked what new applications they found most useful in 2008.  Google Earth and Google Docs made almost every top ten list.  The open source learning management system Moodle also received high marks.  Go to our resources page  for links to these and other tools and services that fellow teachers have found useful.

Rapid Growth in Online Learning

Online enrollments in the US are up from 45,000 in 2000 to over 1 million today according to Michael Horn, who along with Clayton M. Christensen and Curtis W. Johnson coauthored Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns.    Horn predicts that by the end of the next decade over 50% of all high school courses will be offered online.  Who will develop those courses?
